American Express sets up Platinum center at Mumbai airport

Credit card giant American Express has started a platinum lounge at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai for AmEx platinum credit card holders.

American Express banking corporation CEO, Shailesh Baidwan said, ”We already have very strong lodging and airline privilege benefits and are now making the cardmembers’ on-ground experiences better.”

The lounge services would be free for primary and supplementary platinum charge card holders besides the facility for one escorted guest. Platinum credit card holders can enjoy lounge facilites by paying a small fee.

An equivalent service was started at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport last year.

Besides the lounge services, there are many other services along with the offer such as rebates on international air tickets, free hotel upgrades, exclusive platinum services offered at over 650 hotels and resorts throughout the world, access to 600 special VIP airport lounges in 90 countries, and travel rewards via the membership rewards program.
