Maruti increases prices of numerous cars

India’s leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has increased prices of many models as it claimed that the company intends to pass on to clients a portion of the increase in input costs and expenses associated with adhering to new emission norms.

From the models whose prices were increased include the A-Star hatchback, whose price will go up by around another Rs. 1000 ($22). The cheaper car Maruti 800, will cost around Rs. 3000 more. This information was given by the company in a statement.

Maruti whose 54.2% stake is held by Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corp, also pulled out initial prices of its five-seater multipurpose car Eeco, whose price will go up by around Rs. 10,000 more.
