Thane Janata Sahakari Bank has planed to start operations in Goa, Karnataka and Gujarat

A recent press report said that the Thane Janata Sahakari Bank Ltd (TJSB) has planned to expand their existing network in the current fiscal. The bank has planned t increase the number branches from 55 to 68 and such expansion are done by venture into Goa, Kamataka and Gujarat.

Reports said that the whole 55 branches were situated in Maharashtra and that the first even branches were located outside the state and their functions were to be done in Goa’s Mapusa city. The bank planned to combine position in Maharashtra.

According to a report the bank has planned to open almost five branches in Gujarat and one in Belgaum (Karnataka the current financial year the banks) in the current fiscal and that the bank has planned to open at least 20 to 25 branches in the next fiscal, consolidating their position in the cooperative bank segment.

Reports said that the bank had recorded a total business of Rs.5100 crore last year and their target is fixed in Rs. 7000 crore for the current financial year. It also said that the bank has offered around 60 per cent of loans to small-scale industry. The officials stated that Rs 400 crore has been given for small housing loans, which are below Rs 15 lakh. The banks lending portfolio includes home loan, personal loans, education loan, business loans etc.
