Dhanlaxmi Bank says retail loans to constitute 30% of loan portfolio

Private sector bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank has estimated retail loans to comprise 30% of the total loan portfolio in this fiscal.

The total loan portfolio of the bank is believed to be worth to Rs 90 billion from which Rs 30 billion would make up retail loans. Loans given to the big corporates would be Rs 42 billion, according to Amitabh Chaturvedi, MD and CEO of the bank.

The retail banking division includes home loans, gold loans, mortgage instruments, education loans and car loans. The bank anticipates that the division will increase to Rs 70 billion in the subsequent financial year.

Chaturvedi said that the bank anticipates to loan 30% of the total loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in this fiscal.
