How To Register Your Banking Complaints Online With RBI’s Banking Ombudsman

As we all know, RBI (Reserve Bank of India) is the central banking institution that controls the monetary policy of the Indian rupee. To understand the functioning of India’s apex banking institution, let’s first take a look at some of its main functions. Here we go:

Banking licence issuer

According to Sec 22 of Banking Regulation Act, before starting operations in India, every bank needs to obtain a licence from RBI.

Monetary authority

To stabilise the exchange rate, attain financial stability, maintain a balance of payment and control inflation, RBI controls the flow of money in the Indian economy.

Currency issuer

In order to maintain and run the currency and credit system, RBI has the authority to issue currency. It also includes keeping a track on the circulation of fake currency throughout the country.

Banker for the government

RBI provides short-term credit to both central and state governments. It also acts as the financial advisor for the government.

Bank’s bank

Banks can get loans issued from RBI. They can also keep their collaterals as security and borrow money in case of a crisis.

Foreign exchange manager

RBI is the custodian of Forex. It administers and enforces the provision of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999. Additionally, it also buys and sells foreign currency to maintain the exchange rate of Indian rupee v/s foreign currencies.

These are just a few of the major roles played by RBI. Apart from these, RBI also looks into consumer complaints. Have you ever been in a situation where you desperately want to lodge a complaint against your bank but have no idea on how to go about it? Whether it’s a nationalised bank or a private sector bank, you can lodge a complaint against them in case you’re dissatisfied with their service.

Have You Heard Of The RBI Banking Ombudsman?

The RBI Banking Ombudsman Scheme was created in 2006 to enable people/customers to file their complaints to resolve banking issues they face. The main objective of this scheme is to enable resolution of complaints relating to certain services rendered by banks and to facilitate the satisfaction or settlement of such complaints.

The Banking Ombudsman is a person appointed by the Reserve Bank of India, who has quasi-judicial (tribunal board which has legal powers) authority.

All commercial banks, regional rural banks, co-operative banks, and public sector and nationalised banks are covered under the Ombudsman scheme. In fact, many popular banks like SBI have set up a dedicated system to address online complaints. Presently, there are 15 banking Ombudsmen who have been appointed with offices, most of which are in the state capitals.

What Are The Types Of Complaints?

You can approach the RBI Banking Ombudsman to register a complaint under the following categories:

  • Non-payment or inordinate delay in the payment or collection of cheques, drafts, bills etc.
  • Non-acceptance, without sufficient cause, of small denomination notes tendered for any purpose, and for charging of commission in respect thereof.
  • Non-acceptance, without sufficient cause, of coins tendered and for charging of commission in respect thereof.
  • Non-payment or delay in payment of inward remittances.
  • Failure to issue or delay in issue of drafts, pay orders or bankers’ cheques.
  • Non-adherence to prescribed working hours.
  • Failure to provide or delay in providing a banking facility (other than loans and advances) promised in writing by a bank or its direct selling agents.
  • Delays, non-credit of proceeds to parties’ accounts, non-payment of deposits or non-observance of the Reserve Bank directives, if any, applicable to rate of interest on deposits in any savings, current or other accounts maintained with a bank.
  • Complaints from Non-Resident Indians having accounts in India in relation to their remittances from abroad, deposits and other bank-related matters.
  • Refusal to open deposit accounts without any valid reason for refusal.
  • Levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer.
  • Non-adherence by the bank or its subsidiaries to the instructions of Reserve Bank on ATM/Debit Card operations or Credit Card operations.
  • Non-disbursement or delay in disbursement of pension (to the extent the grievance can be attributed to the action on the part of the bank concerned, but not with regard to its employees).
  • Refusal to accept or delay in accepting payment towards taxes, as required by Reserve Bank/Government.
  • Refusal to issue or delay in issuing, or failure to service or delay in servicing or redemption of Government securities.
  • Forced closure of deposit accounts without due notice or without sufficient reason.
  • Refusal to close or delay in closing the accounts.
  • Non-adherence to the fair practices code as adopted by the bank or non-adherence to the provisions of the Code of Banks Commitments to Customers issued by Banking Codes and Standards Board of India and as adopted by the bank.
  • Non-observance of Reserve Bank guidelines on the engagement of recovery agents by banks.
  • Any other matter relating to the violation of the directives issued by the Reserve Bank in relation to banking or other services.
  • A customer can also lodge a complaint on the following grounds of deficiency in service with respect to loans and advances.
  • Non-observance of Reserve Bank Directives on interest rates.
  • Delays in sanction, disbursement or non-observance of prescribed time schedule for disposal of loan applications.
  • Non-acceptance of application for loans without furnishing valid reasons to the applicant.
  • Non-adherence to the provisions of the fair practices code for lenders as adopted by the bank or Code of Bank’s Commitment to Customers, as the case may be.
  • Non-observance of any other direction or instruction of the Reserve Bank as may be specified by the Reserve Bank for this purpose from time to time.
  • The Banking Ombudsman may also deal with such other matter as may be specified by the Reserve Bank from time to time.

When Can You Approach The Banking Ombudsman?

You can approach the banking ombudsman if:

  • You have not received a reply from your bank within one month from the date of receipt of a complaint by the bank OR
  • The bank has rejected your complaint OR
  • You are not satisfied with bank’s reply

How To File An Online Complaint With The RBI Banking Ombudsman?

In order to file an online complaint with the RBI Ombudsman, follow these steps:

  • Log on to the official website and submit the details of your complaint (https://secweb.rbi.org.in/BO/precompltindex.htm)
  • Upload the complaint letter explaining the problem
  • Upload any supporting documents to support your complaint
  • Insert a copy of the original complaint written to the concerned bank
  • Also, insert a copy of the response received from the concerned bank
  • All these documents need to be uploaded on the website in pdf or .txt format only

What Are The Key Points To Remember?

Here are certain important points which you should keep in mind when you decide to file a complaint with the RBI Banking Ombudsman:

  • The present complaint cannot be reported to the banking Ombudsman by either party. In other words, you cannot re-register a complaint if you have received an answer already
  • The present complaint has not been settled through the Office of the Banking Ombudsman in any previous proceeding
  • The subject matter has not already been decided by any forum/court/arbitrator
  • The RBI Banking Ombudsman does not charge any fee for resolving customers’ complaints. The best way forward is to settle things amicably with the bank. After all, banks need their customers and will ensure that they resolve issues, especially if there is a written complaint.

      Hi Nutan, You can deposit coins in banks. No banks will refuse. According to the RBI, bank branches should accept coins and exchange them for notes. They should accept coins of all denominations which are legal tender under the Indian Coinage Act, 2011 from any member of public without any restriction and pay the value in notes.         I have a pending emi which is to be paid for 2 months , I did got a call from archana from collection team 90294 56351 I gave them the date of 25 but how ever today on date 9oct one of the agent name Deepak came at my doorstep his number is +91 92233 66557 now when I opened the door he said he is from HDFC I told yes , and he asked for money for loan account , I told him I did talked to archana I gave her date of 25 as I am unemployed and I am facing some personal issue, this guy was very rude he was misbehaving I got tired of explaining then I shut the door then he started banging the door loudly, because of which neighbours got disturb and he tried raising this issue with them , it was very humiliating for me , now in order to get ride of him l told I will pay by 12 but I don’t have any money to pay , it was a really bad experience bank cannot do this , even when I told him that speak to this lady on my phone he said (tu phone leke Aah yaha) , now this is the kinda a tone that non of bank officials uses I need a immediate assistance on this ,

      We are sorry to hear about your situation. We hope it gets resolved soon. The bank will not hand over the money to the nominee in case the account holder is no more. The nominee is only the custodian of the money. They will need the signature of the legal heir. If you are the only child, you can get the money for your mother. In case the bank still refuses, write to the bank headquarters stating the rules. In case you don’t get any favourable response, you can either write to the banking ombudsman or take legal action.

    I am purushottam I am holding Kotak Bank account and credit card:

    I have get call from bank side on 9th of March 2017 from +91-9627743322, He is asking our OTP, He has already hold the all card details, But I have not share any Information I have raised a dispute on 9th of march #6804654453.I have call to customer care same time for fraud transaction after that blocked the card. Kotak C C told me Lodge FIR and sent me copy in branch.I have provide FIR copy on 20th of March.I have get mail two times your dispute closed also I have called to customer care last 20 day in 10 times but not get proper response and satisfy answer.

    Today customer care person called you can communicate to merchant.

    Also I have call to payzapp customer care :He is told me if any request from bank side we are lible to provide full details and support ASAP, Payzapp C C support me and he saying regarding your card transaction I have full proof details as details of transaction and if this question ask to me as Kotak Bank or police department or merchant then we will provide the details, He has told me your are not a merchant nor police department and not a bank side.Because bank have legal team for taking action to fraud person and police have authority to know the against your dispute and FIR.

    Why closed the request against my dispute bethout providing solution.
    Bank why not take necessary legal action against this transaction

    Why bank told me go to police and cyber crime police ans communicate to merchant.

    Kindly provide details of below points and provide solution.
    1 If I have told to C C and provide dispute form and FIR copy of Kotak this is fraud transaction why not take action after blocking the card.
    2 If same time dispute raised why not communicate merchant for this transaction for getting details and take necessary action after provide FIR copy.
    3 merchant have hold the transaction two to three day.
    4 Bank have reserve privilege for asking transaction details and take and charge criminal case.
    5 Bank always told me go to police station and crime cell Both are saying we are taking action on lots of amount in laks.
    6 I have called to payzzap customer care he told me they have full details about this transaction.
    I am too foretasted and disappoint of bank behavior.

    Kindly suggest what we should and please refund my amount ASAP.
    I had raise a compliant in 9th April about my fraud transaction still I did not received my amount bank account. Lot of time I had spoken with yes bank team they guys are not responded to complaint properly. I need my money created yo my bank account as soon as possible. Kindly I am requesting you to help me on the same to resolve my complaint.

    I, Noushad V.P, residing in Kerala, India, would like to bring your kind attention that I have submitted old Indian currencies total amount of 51,000/- INR on 13/02/2017 in Reserve bank of India, Chennai having tender receipt No 004904. Since I was abroad at the time of demonetization, i could not exchange the aforesaid amount of old Indian 500 and 1000 old currencies during the period. I was in UAE during the period and i have been submitted all necessary documents and proof that i was not available during the period of demonetization.

    I was promised the amount would be credited to my account within 3 months, it has been almost 4 months since then neither my account has been credited with the amount nor have i received any information regarding the same. Kindly advise me the next step I can do it regarding in this matter. I have registered many complaints in RBI but still no reply.

If you don’t get a satisfactory reply, you can write directly to the RBI headquarters.       I am account holder of Abhyudaya Bank – Kalyan East branch. I had taken loan from bank and ECS deduct from my salary account as I change my job and same convey to Abhyudaya Bank they conveyed me to give a proper written application and transfer ECS to Abhyudaya bank.. I followed same procedure they guide me but due to there careless work my ECS have not been stopped in Kotak bank and due to insufficient fund my ECS rejected. It’s around 600 Rs. bounce charges I have to pay to Kotak Bank.
      Abhyudaya Bank – No proper coordination, Mis guiding, carelesa work.

    I had lot of trouble related to one fraud transaction on my credit card. The bank took more than 10 months to resolve this and during this period I was harassed for delayed payments which even affected my CIBIL score.

    Now the problem is resolved but can I file complain to get compensation so that banks understand that they have to deal with the complains properly.

    I am student by profession .I was saves some money in my acvounts for fees but it was withdrwal by frudster cyber crime without gaving my atm card and pin no to any other person.I have a saving ac in canara bank bel balbhadrapur 246149 kotdwar uttrakhand ac no 2933108003803 from this ac rs 10,000 is withdrwal fraud on prevoius date 26/06/16. I also not receive msg alert of this transaction. I know it when I withdrawl amount my self on 04/07/16 after transaction I see direct 10,000 less then next day 05/07/16 I go to branch and entry passbook but it cames unknow entry of 10,000 to me I say it to manager I not withdrawl this amount and not gave my atm card and pin no to to any other they say write application I do but my two months rounds continue to bank they do nothing. At last they say go to police I also complaints to police but nothing do any not bank not police.one year going on I do all possibilities as I possible I also waste my extra money but nothing progress.wrost bank service of canara bank bel branch how posdible to digital india in this ciber crimes no ones takes responsibilties not bank s not police so ciber crime is increases I wants that I not get my amounts but the ciber criminals get catched that they not do again that fraudster ti any others poor citigens.please look into my case

      – Since you already have lodged a police complaint, you must keep the copy of that complaint along with all other details/responses that you received from the bank with regards to this transaction.

      Some banks allow customers to have multiple accounts in the same bank with the same mobile number. The customer, however, will have only one customer ID. Those banks which don’t have the concept of customer ID might require you to provide a different mobile number for each account. You can choose to open accounts with a bank that offers the customer ID facility.

    I had issued a cheque to my Society and the same has sent for clearing through Lakshmi Vilas Bank, The Banker has wrongly presented twice for clearing to Corporation Bank instead of Canara Bank, My cheque has returned by a reason ” Wrong Delivery”. I had written a letter to LVBank for proper reason, no replay is received so far. I had returned a letter to RBI – Banagalore along with all documents but no replay is received.     Today, 15th July at 11.30 am i approached your Kurla Depot, Kanakiya Branch to deposit VAT Challan and Cheque, which i have been doing since last few years. But today suddenly your manager refused to accept this last Vat Cheque and from 21st July GST is introduced and I may not fall within the limit of libility to be registered under GST, so may not need to any net banking online registration.

    All these years this branch of SBI which was earlier at Kamani and since 2 months shifted to Kurla Depot Kanakiya building, was accepting VAT cheque challan. Now last VAT challan is to be paid for last quarter under VAT ending on 30th June by 21st July but suddenly this branch has stopped accepting VAT challan for this last quarter from non customers, asking them to pay online.
    It is to be noted that liability to be registered under VAT was turnover of 10 Lakhs and now in GST many such traders/manufacturers/distributors whose turnover is below 20 lakhs whould be out of ambit of GST. So why such traders r forced to go for net banking online system just for paying one last challan under VAT.
    Please cover this issue to expose highhanded attitude of Bank in harrassing customers.

Nobody tell the reason of dishonored my cheques . every dishonored cheques charges deducted by bank 590/- rs. each. I complained to bank for this but they told they don’t know about reason. Bajaj finserv told they don’t know. Please solve my problem as soon as possible . I am very depressed from bank branch in which I have an account.     Complaint Id: 1707020954 On 28/5/17 time 12:18 pm I use HDFC bank atm for withdrawing 2000rs from my axis bank account but the transaction was failed and receipt comes from ATM in receipt there is clearly mention that transaction declined (I have attached the screenshot of receipt with this mail) so I just split the receipt and discard but when I received the message from my account and it says your account 790542 is debited INR 2000 on 28-07-2017 12:18 pm then I paste the receipt and keep it with me for further reference. Axis bank customer care says that “As per the confirmation received from concern team we had raised pre-arb still the other bank has rejected our dispute so the case is closed from their end.”

    My salary is deposit in my account on 13 June 2017 Rs 13,195/- and I cash withdraw 4000/- of IOB ATM machine at Madinaguda, which is branch of Miyapur on 13 June 2017 at evening time of near to 8pm, but ATM machine is Jump and I did not get the payment. But the payment was deducted from my account. I complained in the bank and costumer care many time, but they did not give me any response. Sir now 45 days are past and I have been upset by visiting the bank again and again. Please solve/ rectify this problem and please give me my amount after all the checks and revert back.

    My money got withdrawn (stolen) by ATM card cloning. It was 80,000/- rupees withdrawn at ATM of another city. I have lodged written complaint to SBI. Also filed FIR. It is now 1 month, but no action is taken by Bank. I have lost confidence in e-transactions, POS terminals and even net banking.

    Bank manager verbally told that your card may have been cloned in some POS terminal. If bank cannot provide safe custody of my money, then what can they expect from customers? It is the Bank’s responsibility to provide secure technology. And if they cannot do so, then they should take care of their customer’s money.

    What is the guideline for the refund in such cases. Please let me know the chances of refund. Thanks

      We’re so sorry to hear this.Unfortunately instances of fraud are on the rise and sadly neither the banks nor other financial institutuions have come up with a fool-proof plan to secure this technlogy. In your case, since you have already lodged an FIR and submitted a written complaint to the bank, we request you to follow up with them and get a timeline on when they will be able to look into this matter. Usually, banks do take a while to investigate fradulent cases and it is only fair that we give them ample time to look into the matter.

      However, if you’re not satisfied with their response and want to take it up with the Banking Ombudsman, you can get in touch with them directly. They should be able to expediate the process with your bank’s branch. Chip Credit Cards and Debit Cards are generally more secure than magnetic stripe cards. If you want to get one, click here.

      Please check to see if your grandmother left her chequebook behind, or if any of you or your relatives have made any kind of payment to her account in the past. This way you can reach out to your bank and get the beneficiary details of that payment.
      Ideally, your bank should be able to search for her account number via her full name and other details. See if you can speak to someone in the bank who can help you retrieve this information.
      If none of these things work, you can send in a written request to your bank with your concern. And if this still isn’t helpful then you can reach out to the Banking Ombudsman.

    I had not made payment for the loan and credit card last month….but when they (HDFC BANK) contacted me I have conveyed them the msg that once I am in Mumbai I’ll completely pay all ur dues.

    After conveying also…they have used foul languages and used to harrase us like anything. My dad has blood pressure problem and he has collapsed twice due to this people.

    They mentally tortured us,used foul languages and threatened us also…..
    Because of this condition my whole family is in shock state and we also got humiliated in our society because of this.

    I just want to ask,this is procesure to behave with your customer….

    I had an account with IndusInd bank, Barakhamba Road , New Delhi Branch . in that a/c cheque was sent by Employees Provident office against my claim. This was unknown to me. Now after getting information about this I contacted bank and they said a/c was closed by them and no payment was received. As per proof provided by PF Office the Bank was already cleared cheque as on 16/3/2012. Bank was refused and not even giving a/c statement for that period. What can do in this matter.

      This is my copmlaint ,my aunty had given a cheque Rs 5000/- in the name of POWER TEK SYSTEMS and and party got credited then debited the same amount on 25th of Sept2017 and bankers of the party returned cheque too, were as Rs 57780/- amount is been debited from my acc instead of Rs 5000/-, The party produced the cheque to Vijaya Bank Belgavi, whow shall i get my amount immediately,SBI branch manager said it will recredted to my aunty acc,where as it is almost 10 dys now ,why in delay of recrediting the amount.if in case of our side mistake bankers will immidiately charge the penalty for such things,now will be responsible for the mis transactions, help me out what should i further take next action.

    i have account in axis bank, after demonetization from my account Rs.4500 gt deducted from some other state. i immediately approached the nearest branch and lodged a complaint. they asked me to write an email of the incident and also image of the destroyed ATM card.. i completed all the procedures but its been 10months now the bank are just saying we are doing the followup with our back office department.
    please help me how do i get this resolved and get by money back.

    I had a RD account with SBI Patna. This account was closed prematurely by me 0n 01/12/2016. But after closing the maturity amount was not credited to my account.
    the statement of the said account has reference given below

    AUTO CLOSURE.BAL TRF TO BC/IOI-BC TO BE ISSUED A/C ”

    For this i inquired many times through SBI online CMS services but the reply was to contact the home branch. So last month i went to the home branch inquiring the same but they couldn’t trace the amount. I have given written complaint to the home branch (SBI Patna) but even after one month no action has been taken. So for this can i go to Banking Ombudsman.

    Hi All,

    I recently experienced a fraud transaction on my KOTAK credit card. Ireceived a SMS “A Transaction of Rs.7695.42 has been done on your Kotak Credit Card No.xx8728 at PRINCEARUN on 21-Dec-2017. “.

    Luckily phone was in my hand and as soon as i received first transaction sms, i immediately blocked my credit card. Also i logged a complain to KOTAK customer care . While i was logging my complain, i continuously received many fraud transactions messages but those were declined as i blocked my card after receiving first transaction message.

    Second day itself, i filled and sent Dispute form which was acknowledged by KOTAK (Ref No- 1-8078644555).

    Kotak told me that they will take 45 days to investigate. I don’t know what to do but i don’t wan to pay which i never spent.

    I never ever shared any details with any one.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi sir. I’m writing this with a lot of pain mentally hoping that you will show me the solution for my problem. Sir on November 27 th this year i Tried to withdrew 10000/-rs in a Bank of India ATM.That is a SBI ATM card in Chennai. When i approached and followed the procedures to withdrew my money The power went off when the machine just started to count the cash. Unfortunately I received a sms stating that rs 10000/- babe been debited from your account. So i checked the valence by using sbi missed cal facilities and confirmed that the 10000/-rs have been debited. I enquired the Security about this problem and power cut. He stated men that this is the casual problem sir. It’s happening often so don’t worry you will receive your money soon or within one or two days. But i was not able to go from there so i waited there with the Security until the power come again. It took some minutes to restart and as soon as it restarted i checked again but they’re was no use. My 10000 rs did not come back. Actually i was suffering from eye complaint so i planed to visit dr.agarwal eye hospital with that money and also face some personal problem. But as the time was growing to night i was not able to go the doctor. I again enquired the Security about this problem and went away. I wanted to register a complaint about this to the SBI customer care. So called to their no. And filed a complaint against this money. Having registered my complaint they have me a Ticket Number Like. AT526343……… And also they gave me an assurance that. Within 7 working days your complaint will be resolved. So i kept on calling them so many times about this matter. When i sent an E mail complaint to the sbi but they’re is no resolution came from them. They were always saying that your complaint is under process so we now send a reminder to the team.. with a lot of tension and physical problems i was writhing for their reply for the last 1 month. But today 28/12/17 i received a sms from the sbi dyeing that”Your complaint 00000000has been attended to and closed after resolution as:ATM BANK HAS AGAIN CONFIRMED THIS TRANSACTION AS SUCCESSFUL. RELEVANT DOCUMENTS SENT TO YOUR BRANCH..”
    On seeing this message i immediately called to the sbi customer care and enquired about this inhuman cheating attitude from the bank? They were saying sorry and other things only but. My mother tormented mentally a lot and i lost my peace and feeling very shame of myself and the bank. Without taking food i I’m writhing this to get some resolution sir.
    1- For the last 30 days i lost my mental peace due to this matter. Further my mother also worried mentally a lot.
    2- How can this public sector banks cheat the customer’s money? what is the resolution for this problem sir?
    3- How can i get my money back and what remedy can i get from the bank for my mental agonies and cheating of my money?
    Please sir give me some resolution as earlier as possible sir.

    my name Rajendran and i working in pvt ltd company and i get loan from India bulls and paying EMI for last 5 years.
    and at present Home loan interest rate 10.15% charging me as on date and i called India bulls customer care for why they charging higher rate of interest i.e 10.15% more and they simply reply that RBI not inform to reduce interest rate for old customer.

    What this correct? why we paid more interest? if interest is increased then they automatically increased my interest rate but if decreased the y want RBI Intimation.

    Hi, This is RAMAKANT GUPTA, a senior citizen retired from self employment in Pharmaceutical field. After Retirement, shifted to our Native Place from Work Place of Nerul, Navi-Mumbai to Chhatarpur in M.P. in the year 2014.
    Kindly advise for the following bank’s problem faced by us-
    1. Abhyudaya Co Op Bank Ltd, Nerul East Branch- On closing our Saving account in first quarter of 2017, Bank had deducted about Rs 300 under different heads including ACCOUNT’S CLOSING CHARGES. Is the Bank allowed to collect under this Head?
    2. We have two Joint Saving accounts in S.B.I, Hatwara road Branch, Chhatarpur ( M.P.), in one First a/c holder is me (Husband) & in other My Wife. Frequent problems observed with SBI-
    a. Levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the Consumer– Bank should not have any rights to deduct consumer money without prior consent/ information. Some time, unexpected deduction also causes INADEQUATE FUND IN ACCOUNT FOR CHEQUE INSTRUMENT ISSUED & SPOILING THE REPUTATION OF CONSUMER DUE TO BOUNCING THE PAYMENT BY BANK.
    b. Insisting by bank to keep some FDR in Bank for allotting Locker, which is not the norm as per RBI Guidelines.
    c. Bank is very prompt in deducting the charges for SMS facility activation ( without any Prior information), but very slow in keeping their SMS system updated to send the prompt SMS for Debit/ Credit of Consumer’s account. On complaining to Bank Officer, simple response is, ” FROM OUR SIDE WE HAVE ACTIVATED THIS FACILITY, THERE MIGHT BE SOME FAULT IN BANK TERMINAL”, While Bank terminal works Promptly for DEDUCTING Charges?
    d. There are some norms of bank to maintain some Minimum BALANCE in account, failing to which, there is quick deduction of charges ( without any prior information). But very frequently, when we approach bank to deposit CASH, they are refusing to accept as “INTERNET TERMINAL IS NOT WORKING”.
    e. We had received some Funds by SALE of our Property in Mumbai in the months from Nov 2017 to Jan 2018. Just to get benefit of more interest on Fund, we had requested to activate our both the Joint Saving accounts with MOD Facility in Nov. 2018. We had reminded several times to Bank Officer for Non Activation of same in one account. After about 1-2 months time, we were informed by Bank Officer, the Bank system is not activating two accounts in one CIF NUMBER. But in the month of Jan. / Feb 2018, both the accounts are Activated. Why should we suffer for loss of Interest from our Fund due to the negilence of Bank system?
    Kindly advise us, how we can keep our Grievances with SBI/ RBI ?

    I had taken a loan from scb, and just from the next emi date i kept on calling and saying bank that please take emi every month out of my account they never took out and now after filling a complin with them they said you please pay 4 emi which are due and we will make your cibil alright, my request was please make my cibil alright i will make the payment. for this they sent me some dummy cibil score which is not matching with bankbazar who i trust.

    never they replied for my mails or for my call and now after 4 month they want all the emi at a time and when already damaged is done to cibil.
    what shall i do now

      Hi Shivshankar, Although there is no specific amount mentioned by the RBI, banks may be reluctant to accept too many coins at a time. This is because there is no machinery in place to detect whether a coin is fake or not, so this has to be done manually. We suggest that you exchange the coins in small batches.     I am ICICI saving account holder, some one had hacked my account and remove 20000 rupees on 08/04/18. i had logged the complaint on the same day and submitted all the require document. but at the end ICICI had given the final statement that they will not refund my ammount. I wanted the RBI People help so that they caught this hackers and give proper security to our account. its a bank responsibility to secure thier customer account. Police said as per RBI norms if the money get deducted from some one its a bank who is reponsible to repay the amount to the victim and take strict steps.

    It was very painful and unexpected incident that occurred with me when I came to know that there was a fraud of Net Rs.1 Lac by using my Mobile no. @

    .I got a call from 7478501976, the person who made a call stating that he is calling from Airtel and your mobile number is not registered with

    Aadhaar card therefore this will be blocked with immediate effect. That time I was in roaming at Rishikesh in Uttrakhand. Also he gave me a SIM NO (SIM

    8991000900069313396U) and said please forward given SIM details to 121 even I was assured reason being I am sending to Airtel only, which I did and thereafter my mobile no blocked and also an incident took place simultaneously that I mentioned above.

    I made call in first step to Airtel from another number and got to know that I have to go to any Airtel in case services not resumed after removing & placing this

    SIM in phone. I visited to Airtel store next day at Rishikesh only, opposite of Bhardwaj hospital where I was told that my mobile number is blocked and will be resumed in Delhi only.

    Consequent to this incident, Also I visited my bank on Wednesday 25-04-18 that how this big transaction was made without my approval then I was told that It

    was done through UPI application only and amount transfer to “Assam Gramin VI” . Also, I was given assurance that bank team will investigate this matter seriously in this regard.

    I got new SIM issued from Najafgargh store on 25-04-18 when I was told that this SIM is blocked.

    It is a very big amount for me that I earned with hard work and requesting all concern to take this entire episode to the conclusion with reversal of this.

    I complained to bank and cyber cell .now one month has been passed but there is no update of complain from bank.I also complained to regional branch manager office but they are telling it will take time not giving any approx period for resolution. What I should do now.

    In the MSME sector, is an existing MSE unit with UAM and its PAN be denied credit upto Rs. 20 lakhs by any bank for the want of margin money. We know that margin money is collateral. It is just a synonym used by some corrupt bank staff because seeking ‘collateral’ is forbidden, so they seek it in a different way so that collateral to some extent is covered within these 20 lakhs as well, while the law is that upto 20 lakhs no collateral must be sought, and above all, a live micro enterprise with all live attributes cannot be killed for anything by depriving it of credit as financial inclusion has to be done else it will die. It is a matter of life and liberty as its livelihood.

    It is seen that most of the times it is advised to report matters to the banking Ombudsman RBI, but there are differences among Banking Ombudsmen as well. The best one is from Maharashtra and Goa, and the most corrupt one is in Uttar Pradesh to which many thousands complaints were filed and only 5 decisions went against banks. Besides, RBI has allowed matters of credit to be decided by the banks themselves and any complaints to RBI fetch response that Bank frames rules according to its board approved policies, but even when there are severe violations of law of land they give the same absurd response. NPAs are not result of corrupt borrowers as they present their file for funding and they have the right to seek and the right to show good picture of themselves, but as they have the right to seek they do not have the right to get, and this is where the corrupt bank babus jurisdiction comes in.

      The Banking Ombudsman usually resolves the issue quickly. If they don’t resolve the complaint, you can appeal to the appellate authority within 45 days. The appellate authority is the RBI deputy governor.

Sir, the hackers withdrawal Rs. 35500/- from my ATM. Immediately I close my ATM in Customer Care of SBI. After that complaint was lodged at Lodhi Coloney Police Station because I am a customer of SBI Lodhi Road. Sir, How this happen when the ATM is with me and my limit is only 20,000/- thousand a day. Sir, I shall be grateful if you help me in this matter and i also wanted to know who will give me that amount SBI Bank or Axix Bank because the hacker transacted the amount from AXIX ATM. Pl. help me.

It is now approximately 9 month to that complaint…n action also taken by the bank they admitted that money was stolen fraudulently but they only pay back 50 percent means 80,000/- of the missing amount when i asked the reason then they said that only half amount is approved by the Ombudsman ….so i want the specific reason of that action…..n i want..the full refund…pls help me as soon as possible…

      Banking Ombudsman will first ask you if you have registered a complaint with the bank and whether it’s been 30 days from the day you made the complaint. If you answer yea to these, you will be asked for the bank name and other details. Please visit the Banking Ombudsman website.

    after making a complent by my IDFC BANK Hitachi is saying you have made a successful transation .then I made a request for CCtv footage but they are not giving cctv footage.
    What should I do now ?

    Respected sir,

    Its an anarchy of the HDFC that they are not taking any kind of action on the work allotted to them.on the 10th of june that is Sunday I had provided all required documents to the bank for home loan and I had the sanction letter before that even that’s on 30 may 2018 but till now the bank is doing nothing about the measurement of the house and no further steps taken. They took a cheque of 11800 at the very first day when we filled the form of home loan application but yet no action is taken further.I am really annoyed by them they have not even cared to reply.I want that some strict action be taken against them for this irresponsible behavior.

    i have an existing customer of Yes bank credit card, in last year approx November 2017, they have didn’t sent me the bill and i have call to customer care to send me the bill, he said me that bill request has been taken and it will send to you with in 72 hours but i have not received the bill in given timeline and after 72 hours i have again call him and they have told me the same statement and on that time i leave that topic and on the next month they have send me the bill with penalty and on same time i have call to customer care to adjust the bill and they refuse my request, according to me my bill was of 800 INR and on current date they are sending me the bill every month and current now outstanding amount approx 9000 INR, now my cibil is completely spoil, so please help me here to out of it from that mess.

    Hi team,
    Please help me, i have Hdfc Bank Credit card and i am using this card since 28-30 months. Due to financial problem i was not able to do full payment at that time so i paid minimum amount every time..but few days before i just notice that there is heavy interest rate charging on my card so i decided to do full settlement of my card.. So I just coordinate with HDFC Bank customer care phone banker.. And I told to him kindly reverse my financial charged of 2-3 month i am ready to do full payment and if bank waived off some financial charge on total amount it will greatfull for me.. So executive told me yes sir it can be possible i just take a reversal request and your last three month financial charge 4800 will be waived off and it will be settle down in next billing cycle or reverse in your account and he gave me surity.. So according to that assurance I just borrow some amount from my friend to do full settlement. And within two days I paid credit card full payment. After two days I am trying to contact customer care support team friday,saturday and sunday everytime Executives are busy on another call everytime. Early morning.. After noon, evening and mid night.. But on monday that means today early morning around 8 am executive named shikha pickup my call and directly told to me sir your request has been decline i was shocked because of previous charge reversal regarding assurance accordingly i planned for loan from friend. Now its typical for me to arrange 5000 extra.. How can i arrange its totally deceived by the bank side..they are colmpletly making customer fool.. Kindly suggest me now what I do?.. Can I file a complaint against bank in Banking Ombudsman.

    Dear sir/mam,

    My previous loan is of 350000 and in that loan i have already paid one EMI i.e 11576, now when I went to bank to take a new loan, your executive told me that you can increase the loan amount. In spite of taking a new loan so I done according to him, now in new loan i e of 431790 amount of previous EMI is not adjusted.

    I consulted with many bank executives they said to me before 1 year a loan can’t be closed how its possible

    After taken of loan i think bank will adjust amount automatically so i don’t keep the full amount of 1st emi but its not happen, due to this bank again charged me of 680 rs.
    After this i tried for disciplined emi schedule i pay the second emi.

    But again bank charged me for 250 rs, today (29-08-18) again bank charged me for 312 rs.’

    Now again they charged for 512 rs.
    Please help me regarding this.

    We were having CC A/c with HDFC Bank. We were not getting proper service from HDFC so our C C A/c was taken over by HDFC Bank with same colletral security with higher CC Limit with low interest rates. In this situation HDFC Bank has debited our A/c by Rs. 14.50 Lacs Approx. as pre closure charge. Now we have requested to HDFC Bank but the bank is not giving any answer. Complaint was made through our registered mail to bank but no response from HDFC Bank. Sir please advice what cab be done. Our Company is under MSME. Our new banker Yes Bank officers told for MSME pre closure chages can not be levied by bank. So please advice what can we do ?

    someone told me that that they have blocked Rs 25000/- of my salary account. Without any notice, without prior information how can they block my money which in my salary account. immediately i have checked actually my app shown that Rs 25000 have been blocked …
    ICICI person told me that 13 years ago I have owe a two wheeler loan and some amount of that loan was unpaid that’s why bank has blocked my Rs 25000/-. as per my knowledge i have paid all my loan but i didnt took NOC.
    I have also visited My branch they told me that they can’t do anything.
    When 2 years back i have open this saving account bank contacted me any ask me to pay bal 5000/- for that old loan. but now again they blocked my money.
    I also called to Customer care of ICICI Bank on 11 Sep. 18 time 17:24 hr Mr Abbu was on call he denied to lodge any complaint.
    pls advice what can i do now …..

    I was charged Rs 767 Debit annual charge on my salary account. Hence i disputed the charge and bank refunded only Rs 650 to my account but didn’t refund the GST of Rs 117 (i.e 650+117= 767). It this right, shouldn’t the bank refund the GST of Rs 117 as well as THEY charged me incorrectly to my account. When the called the bank, the agent was completely blank and the Supervisors was rude and stubborn to answer my questions.

    Hello sir,
    My name is Inderpreet Kaur student of 10th class in GGSSS, Nawankot, Amritsar. My SBI account no is 35732701233. and IFSC code is SBIN0001569. My account was opened in 2016 in SBI, katra khazana gate, Amritsar. I m orphan . My uncle and aunt take care of me and their finance condition is very poor. SO my school teacher asked to open the account which make me able to get scholarship from GOVT. I opened my account in SBI and deposit the money but they don’t not ask me to maintain the balance. Due to non maintenance of account in SBI, they charged me 4 times total Rs. 466 . I get the information of deduction when i visit the bank to update my passbook and want to know the amount of my scholarship. I was shocked to see that they deduct my amount which is deposited by me and when i asked them they told me to deposit and maintain 3000 RS. Due to my family finance condition i was not able to maintain and even still i was not able to maintain. plz tell me how can i maintain. I m writing this to u bcoz i saw the advertisement on the TV that according to RBI rule they cannot deduct the amount even without informing the customer .

      We suggest that you speak to SBI on this. There are many zero balance accounts offered by SBI. One of them is the Jan Dhan account. You can ask SBI to close this account and open a zero balance account for you.

    Yesterday(10octuber 2018) I went to bank and tell employe how do i cancle credit card and what is the procedure to close my father account because he is no more
    I gave him my father account number they just check and shouted on me they said the balance is zero i told him i allready withdraw all money

    Sir,
    In Feb 2018 my car loan installment was deducted paritially from my account due to some family problem and because of this loan recovery dept called me and talk me very rudely. When I complain Bank said its a regular call and no harsh word being used, also when I forced them to infestigate they said that is number doesn’t belongs to HDFC. All thing in on mail and recording except that conversation.
    Also few days back I got call from same bank leagal advisor from Delhi that a nonbailable warrent is issued against me and reference person as I have not answered any letter and if I pay it will stop. When I denied a Sub Inspector called me saying a name of person from local police station that we are coming to pick you and send you to delhi and if you will not found at home then your family memeber will be arrested.
    Here I like to say that till date I have not got any letter or Court Notice from the bank, Also my cheque bounce at Mumbai and originated in Jharkhand.

    On 25th of October I have visited Bank of Baroda brahmapur branch in Kolkata for opening a savings account. I have finished all the documentation part on the same day and deposited the money as well. The concern guy told me that by 26th Oct I will be getting the account no, however it will take 10 to 12 days to get it activated.
    On 7th of November I have received call from the branch, stated that the account got rejected because I have mentioned minors name in the nominee section and I need to remove the name for the further processing.
    I requested them to remove the name of the nominee and re process the same.

    I have visited the branch today to get the updation of the account….. As of now there r no updates. And they are unable to tell me that when I will get the details of my account and how long will it take.

    The employees of the branch are so careless that they expect the customer should write everything properly and without checking the form they will process it. This cannot be the reason that the branch is rejecting an account only for the minor nominee name was mentioned.

    I have asked the branch employees as well as the assistant branch head regarding the mistake, so they told me that you can close the account and take the money back. And it was a mistake that they have processed my account.

    Is this is the way to harass the customer who wants to open the account with your bank? I want to close the processing of account opening and want to withdraw the amount immediately. I don’t want to get insulted like this. The bank is there to serve us, not to insult us.

    Kindly check the attached copy of deposit slip.

    Dear Sir/Ma’m,

    As per new RBI guidelines, every bank is sending new chip based debit card to its customers. I have an account with HDFC bank and they charged me with Rs825/ for issuing this card. This is quite high fee which I am unable to give . These banks are taking RBI guidelines as a new means of income as SBI is charging NO fee for such card.

    Please advice me if I should take my complaint with RBI ombudsman if the charges are not reversed and how strong will my case be in ombudsman?

      It would be best if you manage to contact the customer service of your bank to sort this out. If they still do not respond, you could try visiting the bank or writing to their head office. If there is still no response from the bank, you can contact the banking ombudsman. The Ombudsman is supposed to resolve your complaint within 30 days. If you are not happy with the response from the Ombudsman you could approach the appellate authority that comes under the Deputy Governor of RBI. We hope this helps.

    I am writing this to inform you that I am temporarily out of work, which has caused serious financial difficulty for my family. I have workers’ compensation as well as unemployment, but these are just enough to pay my mortgage and feed my family.

    Currently i have to pay my dues for HDFC Bank Loan, Yes Bank Credit Card and i am not in that situation to pay the dues for 1 month and i am daily receving calls from Bank Agents as well as employees of Yes Bank. Please suggest me what should i do. It would be very thankful to you. I will repay the dues between Feb 10-15, 2019.

    I have done a UPI transaction os rs 20000 on 24 Jan 2019 , 8:22 am from my sbi bank using paytm aaps. my transaction got failed from paytm aaps but amount debit from my sbi account and that amount did not credit in my sbi account till now, i already raised a complain in paytm with ref id 108279730, sbi complain id 5184430084, and consumer helpline id 1137566. but my issues did not resolved till now.

    In July 2017, my Debit card was cloning over Nehru-colony Dehradun area (Uttarakhand) and they withdrawal (Rs. 160000) on my account No 10235957876, I had take necessary action against and forward all application to police to bank to cyber cell and all documents to my Bank but Now Bank just given me few amounts(Rs. 40000), in such year more than one and half year(1.6 year) i had suffer so many problems but bank never support and help us. Now Bank just elude on this matter just escape from this.

    In regards to the below complaints we would like to update you that we opened our savings bank account with Kotak Mahindra Bank, Ground Floor, Mayur Garden, G S Road, Guwahati, Assam – 781005, India only upon getting assurance that we would be offered a Kotak Mahindra Bank Family Savings Account (Silk – The Savings Programme for Women) where we would only be required to maintain minimum balance of Rs. 10,000/- (In Words:- Ten Thousand Only) in one of the primary savings bank account only.

    It is very same shameful fact that we are getting mail and SMS to maintain a minimum balance of Rs. 10,000/- and are being told that the family accounts were opened under edge category with AMB requirement of Rs. 10,000/- and no promo code for family accounts was given which are duly signed by the customer (us).

    Bank Charges still have not been reversed for my connected family account bearing Account No. 9312381593 & 9312381586 and still Bank Charges are being levied in spite of having maintaining sufficient balance in my main account no. 0511731141. Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited has been found negligent in rendering services and have not complied with RBI Guidelines and Rules in regards to levy of Minimum Balance Charges. It also has been found guilty of misselling its banking products and services and making false assurance and claims to sell its products and services to the customers.

    We would like to inform you your Kotak Mahindra Bank officials are misleading customers for opening accounts, making false claims, for fulfilling own financial gains at the cost of the customers. It seems that customers everywhere are paying a hefty price for their blind trust in companies with strong brand images. Kotak Mahindra Bank officials are taking undue advantage of the brand name to influence the customers and makes a strong pitch in favor of the Kotak Mahindra Bank Products to the customers. Kotak bank is a fraud, is doing clear injustice with the customers. We the customers are depositing our hard earned money in banks to keep it safe and bank itself is eating away our money. Hats off to banks like Kotak in India, poor Indian laws and poor common man of India.

    Let us remind you of the IBA Code for Banking Practice:-
    “Objectives
    The Code is intended –
    • to promote good banking practices by setting out the minimum standards which Member Banks will follow in their dealings with customers;
    • to foster customer confidence in the banking system;
    • to inculcate self-discipline amongst Member Banks with a view to promoting healthy competition and ethical practices in respect of banking services.”

    Kotak Mahindra Bank Officials are fooling, cheating, misleading customers by giving false claims in regards to opening savings accounts so as to fulfil own targets and gains at the cost of the customers as evidenced from our case and many cases like us.

    If someone makes a misleading or false statement about a product, it tantamounts to mis-selling, as do omitting or concealing material facts and associated risks about an investment product. We visited branches of several banks, including PSU outfits, foreign banks and new generation private banks. However, the modus operandi has not changed. Bank officials still try to mislead people into buying products they don’t need. Bank Officials does so because banks set stiff sales targets for relationship managers, forcing them to push products that fetch higher commissions instead of products and services that suit the customer’s needs. Most of the mis-selling happens at foreign banks and new generation private sector banks. The relationship managers are trained to stonewall any question from the customer.

    In one case, one customer wanted to invest Rs 5 lakh in a fixed deposit in a foreign bank, the salesperson started pushing FDs from NBFCs. “The interest rates offered by these deposits are much higher than what our bank offers,” she said. What about the risk, I asked. Without batting an eyelid she said the FDs she was offering were from ‘reputed’ NBFCs and there was little chance of default. This comes right after the IL&FS fiasco.

    Banks were found pushing sub-optimal, or risky products—most common was the push for Ulips—as a substitute to not just FDs but to the Senior Citizens’ Savings Scheme (SCSS), term insurance and gold bonds. Even granting bank lockers was subject to preconditions—investing in FDs, opening a savings bank account, buying insurance.

    The below is one more case with Mis-Selling Bank Lockers:-
    Since the demand for bank lockers is much more than their supply, most bank branches tie them up with some investment product even though the RBI has asked banks to stop this practice. The first co-operative bank one customer approached gave them the stock reply: “There aren’t any lockers available.” But then a bank official dangled a carrot: “We are planning to increase the locker capacity and you may get at that time. First you open savings account and then give us the application for a locker. We will give lockers based on first come first serve basis.” The PSU bank when approached demanded that customer open an FD of Rs 2 lakh to be considered for locker allotment. “We have few lockers and will give them only to premium customers. Either you open a new FD with us or start a savings account with higher average balance,” the official said. A new generation private sector bank was even more demanding and wanted the customer to purchase a Ulip with annual premium of Rs 1 lakh to get a locker. The senior official wouldn’t even entertain customer’s request to put money in FDs or invest in mutual funds to get a locker and insisted on Ulips.

    Most of the Bank’s sales-focused culture elevates the risk that employees may flout consumer protection rules. Targets and financial incentives had contributed to a culture in retail banking that heavily emphasized sales, and that oversight measures to protect consumers were not sufficient. This environment increases the potential for mis-selling products and services that may be incompatible with consumer needs and financial situations, as well as breaching market conduct obligations. Banks’ increased focus on sales and advice in their branch and call-centre operations — sharpened by technological advances — have outpaced controls to mitigate the risks of rule-breaking or selling customers products or services they may not really want or need. Financial and non-financial incentives may heighten the sales-related risks. Compensation programs with variable pay as a significant component can lead to mis-selling because employees may look to increase sales to maximize their commissions or rewards. While employees who don’t hit sales targets aren’t generally fired, they do receive coaching or training, and those who stick around or get promoted tend to be those who thrive in a workplace culture focused on sales. Moreover, a recent shift towards “more customer-centric sales practices” is still primarily aimed at helping employees nail down sales opportunities. Banks have also outsourced sales of credit cards and other products to third parties with weaker oversight and sales targets that could encourage the use of “high-pressure tactics.”

    There are “numerous instances” of inadequate investigations of consumer complaints as well. This followed a recent report by the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments, which can investigate the complaints of customers who weren’t satisfied with the banks’ internal dispute-resolution system, that found its banking-related complaints increased last year.

    To be fair, not all bank employees are bad apples. We had also very much good experience with some other Nationalized and Private Banks.

    Bank employees roam everyday around the customers when customers have large amount of cash lying in their accounts. As soon as cash is no longer available they cannot be seen anywhere nearby.

    Again bank can now claim that the customers (we) have signed on various forms as given to us at the time of opening of accounts. That’s true but let me tell you that all the customers’ signs all the forms in good faith and trust only and as per verbal & telephonic conversation had with the officials and nobody tries to read each and every terms and conditions as mentioned in the forms. Customers trust the words and assurances of the officials only.

    So we can now see that the end customer cannot do much in the court of law as there is no evidence of assurances given by the bank officials and court will only consider our SIGNATURE on the Forms only as an agreement.

    Time is now for RBI to change/update the old rules and guidelines and ensure that Banks needs to record in facts and proofs that the customer has been properly and completely made understood and guided all the terms and conditions of the banking products and services before taking up the banking products and services so as to avoid generation of cases like ours. In this way fraud banking officials will not be able to misguide any customers easily and cases like ours will not arise. All Telephonic calls had with the customers should be recorded and preserved for future references. All CCTV footages should be recorded as well.

    Kotak Mahindra Bank and all other banks must should properly train and guide all its officials to follow all the rules and good practices which are supposed to follow. It should be implemented on ground level. Formally Signing of code of conduct on paper should does not serve the purpose unless everyone follows the same on the ground level. Banks should set up a formal framework to oversee sales practices, that oversight of consumer complaints be improved, and that compensation strategies for employees are geared towards the interests of consumers.

    How, Where and when do these objectives of promoting ethical practices in respect of banking services do Kotak Mahindra Bank Officials Performs? How it is being checked?

    As per any our experience is concerned with the Kotak Mahindra Bank and many other Nationalized and Private Banks, it is only ensuring its financial gains out of all these and does not care about customers at large. Kotak Mahindra Bank has nothing to do with any ethical practices.

Spoken to My Bank manager who is from Bank of india but they mentioned they could not do anything and I have to go to any Citibank branch regarding the same. As per RBI guidelines, you can walk into any bank branch, even if you are not a customer of that bank, to get your damaged notes exchanged. Remember that any note with slogans and message of a political nature written across it will not be circulated by the RBI.
      You can exchange that note in any bank branch of any bank in India. They will give you a fresh note and in return the bank branch will forward it to the RBI. You can also use damaged notes to pay utility bills and taxes or even deposit them in a Savings Bank account.
      We suggest you try to exchange the note at another bank. If that doesn’t work out as well, we suggest you write to the Banking Ombudsman detailing your concerns. Hope this helps!

Gaikwad account Union Bank of India A/CNumber : 5468xxxxxxx929  I filled a last digit incorrect that’s why payment had goneto other person accounts 
    I complained to bank now 3 month has been passed but there is no update of complain from bank.I also complained to regional branch manager office but they are telling it will take time not giving any approx period for resolution. What I should do now.

In the event of a transfer of funds to a wrong bank account, banks do not have the authority to reverse it from their end unless they receive an approval from the beneficiary. In such a case, if the amount has been credited, it is not easy to get the money back unless the receiver agrees to return it.
      We suggest you write to the concerned bank detailing the specifics of the beneficiary’s account. The bank may be able to act as a facilitator by providing you with the contact number/branch name of the unintended beneficiary.
      In case it is an intra-bank transfer, the bank may approach the recipient on your behalf and request a reversal of transaction. If the beneficiary agrees, the transaction will be reversed within one working week. If the beneficiary is of a different bank than yours, then you have to personally visit that particular branch and meet the bank manager to get the situation resolved.
      In case the beneficiary refuses to acknowledge that the transaction was incorrect, you can file a legal complaint as well, but remember to back your case with proof. Taking the legal route will be more complex if your bank and your beneficiary’s banks are different or are in different cities.
      Unfortunately, no recovery is possible if the beneficiary contests the reversal. We hope this addresses your query.

    This complain is regarding the Personal loan 160000 which i have taken from HDFC BANK it was automatically disbursement which was offer by bank to me on my salary account. Bank did not inform me that my first EMI will start from March 2019.which is wrong ideally my first email should go in month of Feb, they are inform me over the call that its depend on their bank cycle. To achieve the bank target HDFCbank make fool to customer, without informing any TC. I am sure many salary holder who have take loan form HDFCBANK. they might have dont no when there first EMI went.
    Why should I follow the bank cycle if they have not informed me about the EMI in advance? Also they have not told me for the loan closure details.
    Now when i want close this PL they are telling me you cannot close before 12 month EMI , and top of that they are telling me you have to pay foreclosure penalties. Why should I pay this, this Bank fault?
    When my amount got disbursed ideally my first EMI should go in month of Feb and Jan 2020 where its counts as 12 months. This big fraud what HDFC bank is doing with many salary account holders. With out informing about the Personal loan EMI and closure, just disbursed the amount to customer account just to achieve there bank target. And the reply i get in 5 working days. And now bank is sharing the PL agreement which should be share before the PL disbursement.

    Sir,
    I have taken a personal loan from Bajaj Finance Ltd. on February 2020. After that I paid 3 EMI to them (April to June). Due to COVID-19 they offered Half EMI for two years and converted the loan into Flexisaver Loan.
    Due to lock down Loan Amount could not used as per my plan. So I return back the Loan Amount with extra charges through Foreclosure option in the Bajaj Finance website. Now they saying I cannot close the Loan before six EMI as per the Agreement.
    If I cannot close the Loan before 6 EMI, why they given foreclosure option in the website? Why they closed my first loan through foreclosure option after 3 EMI as agreement was after 6 EMI.
    Due to lock down I am not getting salary properly. I am not in a position to pay EMI. Can I stop EMI from Bank now?

    This is with regard to the information under Right to Information Act of my mother and Father Account, who is holding an account with SBI Bank.
    My mother and father died in 2019 in suspicious circumstances. I had requested the bank manager(State Bank of India) HAL campus branch Balanagar, Hyderabad on 5th June 2020 regarding
    the information of details of bank accounts under RTI account and I had submitted all the documents of Request letter with a Death certificate,
    Ration Card of the family members, And also provided my Aadhar card and pan card along with DD of Rs.10 as per their process. they had taken the documents and branch Manager had given
    the acknowledgement for the same. Till date, they had not provided any details regarding the same.

    Hi Sir, I have taken education loan in IOB, kurudamplayam branch. i was asked to give my LIC bond as custody along with house document. I fully paid my education loan in year 2012. continuously i took sahayika loan and hence i didn’t get back my documents. Currently my LIC bond is matured, and i asked with LIC office. they told it is in IOB bank’s custody. so you need to get bond from them like that. I asked the IOB manager, they scolded me and not giving any response. I am in panick. don’t know what to do. I went 4 times to bank after getting permission from company. i got dejected by their response.
    Kindly guide ,me what to do next.

      Did you opt for a Home Loan with a floating interest rate? If you did, the bank can change your interest rate from time to time. However, the bank should still intimate you before it does so.

    I, Krishna P. Gadde, have taken Home loan 40 lakhs from Syndicate Bank, Garden branch-Guntur-Andhra Pradesh. in 2018 and we were being paying installments regularly till now, fortunately RBI reduced interest rate from 8.65% to 6.95%(1.7%) , therefore I sent request letter and submitted bank format duly signed by me and my wife, and requested not to reduce EMI amount, reduce EMI tenure but the concerned branch loan officer and manager trying to execute EMI reduction in consultation with their regional office, which is not at all justifiable to the customer, I have done calculation – almost loosing 40%-45% amount ie t 4-5 lakhs for the period of 15 years if I accept EMI reduction instead of EMI Tenure.
    Apart from that I have enquired- gathered information from SBI, HDFC, ICICI bank and they strictly follow as per customer request. but the syndicate loan officer & manager did not follow and they blind follow their head office , Bangalore instruction and they reluctant to accept our request, even I sent mail to Customer care Bangalore and branch office but I did not get any response.
    I am not able to approach bank due to Corona and away from Country.
    My quarry to Bank bazar is
    1. Any RBI guidelines on EMI amount and tenure decision to put forward my complaint through Bank Lokpal
    2. Or How to proceed further in this matter,
    3. the bank manager blindly follow regional office direction., and they do not have any guidelines
    4. No proper documental evidence on above or RBI guidelines from any bank.

    I would appreciate if anybody could arrange to send RBI guidelines especially on EMI decision, then it will be easy for me to convince banks or legal fight for it.

    This is Krishna P. Gadde, from Andhra Pradesh, more than 25 years regular customer from Syndicate bank, by having FDs. with good customer service and hopes.

    In 2018, we have taken home loan Around 40 lakhs from Your esteemed bank, Brundavan Gardens-Guntur -AP. @ 8.65% with Floating type interest rate as per details below:

    and I requested to reduce interest rate as per prevailing rate, the concerned officer informed me that the interest rate will be fixed once final disbursement is done, but it did not happened, and my wife
    is paying regular EMI promptly as I am out off country.

    Few months ago the interest rates have been reduced, we felt that the bank will do needful automatically or inform to customer as we selected floating type, but it did not happen, therefore my wife approached bank then they provided papers for filling /signature and it took almost 20 to 25 days. now the bank wants to reduce EMI amount from Rs42400 to Rs39049., but we would like to keep same EMI and reduce EMI installments and it would be benefit to the customer and all other banks doing especially SBI, ICICI etc.

    I am shocked that all govt. banks not following same guideless and it is great loss for me and few of them whom I recommend to take loan from Syndicate bank.

    Therefore, now I would request your good office- please confirm your bank stand on two aspects.
    1. Whether Customer will be notified such interest changes increase or vice versa as we opted floating type as other banks are doing it. 2. Whether Syndicate bank give selection option to customer either EMI installments reduction or EMI amount reduction based on their financial situation as others banks doing by default EMI tenure reduction and it is appreciable and benefit to the customer, who has capable to pay same EMI amount.

    The concerned bank branch manager and officer may not having proper idea in this regard and very poor response from Concerned head of the bank and I did get response after several reminders during this pandemic situation. I feel there is no dedicated person for such loans like SBI and others.

    We do expect prompt response from Govt. banks, compete to private bank at least SBI.I presume the concerned officer may respond and do expect some action in this regard.

    Dear Sir,
    I had a Current bank account in corporation bank and accidentally transferred money into one of my saved beneficiary which is current a NPA account . I filed a compliant within the bank by mail and a letter and still they havn’t replied yet. Please suggest me the solution what should i do. The beneficiary is ready to acknowledge that the transaction is accidental .

      You can lodge a grievance with the grievance cell of the bank. If you still don’t get any response, you can approach the Banking Ombudsman with your complaint.

    Today i received one phone call from mobile no 9832850759 saying calling from BSNL customer care and we have to complete KYC on phone for sim during this he hijack my phone thru team viewer and transfer Rs 24800 from my HDFC bank thru net banking from my account no 02851050003085 and 00781460004842 i am attaching bank statement for your kind reference pls.

    ID in Debit narration : 11000028647986 ATOMMGALLA and 11000028651577ATOMMGALLA ,,,,cheque/ref no 211704564492 and 211704564411

    Pls take immediate action so that this amount can be transfer in my account
