Lakshmi Vilas Bank posts 22.79% increase in business

Private sector bank Lakshmi Vilas Bank has said it has recorded a total business increase of 22.79% at Rs 15,561 crore for the financial year ending 31st March, 2010.

Last year, the bank’s total business was worth Rs 12,673 crore. In a statement, the bank says, “The total deposits of the bank rose from Rs 7,358 crore to Rs 9,076 crore, increasing by 23 per cent year-on-year basis”.

The Current Account Savings Account deposits of the bank also went up from Rs 1,229 crore to Rs 1,650 crore reporting year-on-year increase of 34%, it said.

The bank’s credit portfolio increased from Rs 5,315 crore to Rs 6,485 crore, posting a year-on-year increase of 22%, the statement said further.

Lakshmi Vilas presently has 16 lakh clients and has 271 branches extending throughout 14 states and one union territory, it added further.
