Mahindra & Mahindra is targeting a double-digit growth in two wheelers during the next 5 years and would also look for some purchases to attain this, said Anoop Mathur, President two-wheeler sector. As per him, as a portion of the $6.3 billion M&M Group, they are always searching for chances to expand.
The philosophy of the group was to expand faster by capturing chances. He said that as a portion of the group, they are also not excused from it and so are searching for chances that will speed up their growth.
He was participating in Mahindra Blue Chip Conference, a 2 day thinking session of top executives for all divisions of Mahindra group.
But he refused to answer the question if the company was in talks with any group for buy-out.
Commenting on the future trends, he said the sector has been expanding at 22-23% annually and the com[any has excellent chance of becoming one of the leading players in the market.
Mathur said that Mahindra’s brand value along with marketing prospects and hard work would definitely help them reach their goals,.
The two-wheeler division of M&M group commenced retailing gearless scooters from September last year and exceeded 10,000 level last month, averaging sales of about 7,000 units per month. The company aims sales of 15,000 units a month by April.
