India’s biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India is believed to be planning increasing its production by around 10% to manufacture more than 1,10,000 units a month from October.

With this, the company’s yearly output will exceed 13 lakh units in 2011-12, as against 12 lakh units intended for this fiscal.

The industry sources say Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has begun work on boosting its output from previous month and plans to increase the same to over 1,10,000 units per month from the present level of around 1,00,000 units.

A source said, “Many of their cars are having long waiting periods. In order to speed up the delivery, MSI is ramping the capacity in both Gurgaon and Manesar plants”.

The company’s hatchback Swift and Ritz have 3-4 and 1-2 months of waiting period respectively.

While clients are lining for 4-5 months to buy the sedan DZiRE, MSI needs around 5 months to hand over the multi-purpose vehicle Eeco.
