Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd, an associate of Japanese two-wheeler maker Suzuki Motor Corporation has introduced Suzuki SlingShot in South Indian market.
Suzuki Motorcycle India VP (Sales and Marketing) Atul Gupta said during the first stage the company is planning to sell 5000 unit each throughout the country.
Meant for the mass market, the 125 cc SlingShot is placed to plug the space that presently lies between the 100 cc and the 150 cc divisions, he said.
Suzuki is also planning to raise its dealerships from the current 200+ to 350 in India by the end of 2012.
Anu Anamika, National Head Marketing said the company is aiming to spend up to Rs 500 crore up to 2012 for increasing the capacity.
