Didn’t know this about Credit Cards? Facts that will put a smile on your face…

Sure you know the power of a Credit Card. But here’s what you DIDN’T know – the lighter side of Credit Card history!

Master of Holograms

The first credit card hologram was created by MasterCard in 1983 to help prevent duplicating fake Credit Cards.

VISA wins

The card we now know as “VISA” was originally called BankAmericard. This was offered by Bank of America in 1958, California. It was rechristened VISA in 1976.

Magnetic personality

The magnetic strip on a Credit Card lasts for only about 3-4 years of swiping. Credit Cards expire because the magnetic strip wears off and needs to be replaced.

Free of Charge

MasterCard was initially named MasterCharge. It was in 1979 that its name was changed to the popular “MasterCard” as we know it today.

When you’re feeling low (on cash), your Credit Card will lift your digits, when you’re down (on discounts) it’ll offer you the perfect concession you need! But if you’re still on the lookout for a Credit Card BFF, look no further.
