Axis Bank introduces its 1000th branch

The 3rd biggest private sector bank in the country, Axis Bank has opened its 1000th branch in the country. The branch is located at Bandra Reclamation situated in the Western suburbs of Mumbai.

The branch is located on the premises of the Maharashtra Educational Trust opposite to the Lilavati Hospital.

S.K. Chakrabarti, the executive director said, “It is a very special day for all of us at Axis Bank. This marks yet another step towards reinforcing our commitment to bring superior banking services, marked by convenience and closeness to our customers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers and partners to have made this possible”.

The bank has a wide array of products and services to meet the requirements of the customer. Its services comprise of large and mid-corporate banking, SME banking, agri-business banking, retail banking and international banking. It also offers various types of loans like car loans.

The bank is looking to open 30 more branches by the 31st March 2010.

Besides retail banking, the bank also offers private banking and wealth banking to its customers. Mr. Chakrabarti said that the bank is presently involved in developing both these businesses,”.

It has also pioneered in coming up with innovative products and services for the customer. The bank had launched a service providing mobile payment solution to customers earlier this year.
