A recent press report said that Bank of Baroda has planned to set up its pan-India call centre in Lucknow to cater to various customer demands and services. Reports said that the call centre would handle the banks complete customer queries and services from any corner of the country.
Mr. Subhas C Ahuja General Manager, UP and Uttarakhand told the press that, BoB has proposed to set up two call centres at Lucknow and Baroda to handle all phone queries from across the country. He added saying that the first one would come up in Lucknow by August and the other one will be launched later in Baroda.
He said that customers can call to the toll free number to avail various services like balance enquiry, cheque book issuance etc and also inform the bank about their complaints and loss of Debit cards etc. He said that the call centres will initially handle calls between 8 AM to 8 PM and would later be made available for 24 hours.
He also said that the bank has started to separate its back office work from the branches so that the bank employees in branches can fully focus on the customer dealings.
Earlier the bank had reported that one of the reasons for it’s the overall slowdown was substantial deployment of loans to the telecom sector for the 3G auctions. Its loan portfolio includes home loan, personal loan, vehicle loan, educational loan etc.
