Best Practice For Mobile Banking

While our lifestyles have become increasingly fast-paced, our banking habits have also evolved. Now, we carry our bank accounts in our pockets. Here are a few best practices for Mobile Banking.

DO

  1. Change your IPIN Regularly. Remember to change your IPIN regularly to safeguard your account. Choose a unique IPIN password that is difficult to guess.
  2. Report Your Lost Phone Immediately. If you lose your phone or it gets stolen, you must report the loss to your bank. The bank will then temporarily suspend mobile banking operations on your account.
  3. Password Protect Your Phone. Ensure that your phone is password protected. This way, you can avoid unknown people accessing your phone if it is ever left unattended.
  4. Monitor Bank Statements. Always check your bank statements carefully. This will ensure that no unwanted transactions go unnoticed.

DO NOT

  1. Forget to Inform Your Bank About Change of Mobile Number. If you change your mobile number, remember to tell all your friends. But don’t forget to tell your bank too. Without an updated mobile number, you cannot use mobile banking services.
  2. Ignore Recipient Validation Before Fund Transfer. Never forget to validate recipients before transferring funds. Recipient validation will give you proof of money transfer in business transactions.
  3. Ask Someone Else to Bank For You. Your bank account should be operated by only one person. You.

Mobile Banking is great power at your fingertips. However, as the saying goes, “With great power comes great responsibility.” So don’t forget that Mobile Banking is a useful convenience that you must use responsibly.
