The country’s biggest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Honda has posted a 16.60% rise in its sales in June at 4,26,454 units exceeding 3,65,734 units it sold in the equivalent month last year.

This is the 18th successive period that the company has posted sale of more than 3 lakh units in one month.

In the April-June quarter, the company’s sales increased 10.28% to 12,34,039 units from 11,18,987 units in the year-ago period, a statement released by Hero Honda said.

Anil Dua, Hero Honda Motors senior VP for marketing and sales said, “We are quite happy with our solid performance in the first quarter of 2010-11 which has set a positive tone for the rest of the financial year”.

He said rise in June was achieved due to the high base effect of the company’s sales previous year. Dua  said, “Growth is coming across all segments including our scooterPleasure which is now contributing over 25,000 units every month to the overall volume”.
