IDFC not to venture into banking segment

IDFC, the infrastructure finance company has stated that it does no plan to venure into the banking division. The company made this announcement after the discussion paper on new banking license has been circulated by the Government.

Rajiv Lall MD IDFC said, “IDFC (Infrastructure Development Finance Company) is not interested in applying for a banking licence”.

IDFC looks to be happy with its present status as an infrastructure finance NBFC. It has worked in the company’s favor over years. Lall said that the company will just take part in the talks started by RBI.

After the release of the discussion paper, SREI infrastructure finance has stated its plans to foray into banking sector.
