A recent press report said that two people were arrested in southeast Delhi for allegedly forging documents and cheating ICICI bank of over Rs 63 lakh. The accused were been identified as Girish Pathak and Jitender Singh, said cops.
According to reports the accused had faked the signature of the customer and placed a request for change of the mobile number registered with the bank for that account and also placed a request for issuance of a cheque book. Then the accused had collected the cheque book and used cheques to transfer the money in another account which was also a fake account.
The police report said that Pathak with the support of Jitender and another person had opened a current account in ICICI Bank. They had transferred the stolen amount into their accounts.
Reports said that the accused was arrested and that they have dishonestly forged the signature of a customer on the cheques and presented the cheques and transferred a huge amount to the tune of Rs 63, 40,000. They had caused wrongful loss to the customer and the bank.
