Hey doodle, doodle
A hat or a poodle,
The ink splashed over the page,
The little crayon broke its crown
And the mink turned into a sage!
About seven years ago, Jake Parker decided to get really good at drawing. From the first day of October, he decided to doodle something in “ink” every day. He realised how amazing the idea was and decided to share it with everybody. He started putting these doodles online and thence, #Inktober was born.
Since then, there has been no turning back.
#Inktober is an international phenomenon, an event that encourages the spirit of doodling! Everybody – artists and amateurs alike – participate in this month-long event to celebrate art in its purest form – sketches, doodles, and drawings for all the 31 days of October!
#Inktober at BB
We have a set of super-talented, fantastic designers at BankBazaar, who make everything come to life on our website and app. But because we believe there is a hidden artist in everybody, we want to bring #Inktober to every other person at BankBazaar.
This is an open event and we would love everybody, absolutely everybody, to indulge in some good (or really pathetic) form of doodling, drawing, and coloring, starting 1st October, 2016.
“Do you have hands? Excellent. That’s a good start. Can you hold a pencil? Great. If you have a sketchbook, open it and start by making a line, a mark, wherever. Doodle.” – Chris Riddell
When: 1st Oct, 2016 to 31st Oct, 2016
Where: BB Bangalore and BB Chennai
This is Really Simple
Drawing something is no biggie! It is more like a natural instinct. You’ve probably been drawing since you were 3.
For #Inktober, we just have a few simple rules:
- Isn’t everything simpler in black and white? We are going minimalist this #Inktober. No use of colors.
- One drawing each day. Too ambitious? Okay, we can roll with it. You can do one doodle every alternate day or maybe just post one drawing every week. Whatever you do, just be consistent with it!
- Post your doodle online with these hashtags: #Inktober2016 #Inktober and #BBInktober2016
Wait! Here’s the best part
Wondering what to draw? Worry not! We have you covered. Mr. Parker releases an official #Inktober list every year and guess what? There’s one this year too.
