Maruti’s Q4 net increases three fold

Maruti Suzuki India posted approximately three-fold leap in net profit at Rs 656.55 crore (Rs 6.56 billion) for the quarter ending March 31, 2010.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 243.13 crore (Rs 2.43 billion) in the matching quarter of 2008-09 fiscal, according to the statement made by Maruti Suzuki  India to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total income for the 4th quarter of the previous fiscal went up by 30.06% to 8,503.52 crore (Rs 85.03 billion) from Rs 6,538.34 crore (Rs 65.38 billion) for the equivalent period earlier fiscal, it added.

For the whole 2009-10 financial year, MSI’s combined net profit rose by more than two-fold at Rs 2,624.64 crore (Rs 26.24 billion), as compared to Rs 1,227.45 crore (Rs 12.27 billion) in FY’09.
