PNB starts its 5th branch in UK; 2 more in pipeline

PNB, the 2nd biggest PSU bank has opened its 5th branch in UK through its fully owned associate, Punjab National Bank (International) Ltd.

The branch is located at Ilford, east London. The bank has intentions of starting another 2 branches this year.

The new branches would be located in Wembley and Wolverhampton, according to Punjab National Bank (PNB) Chairman and MD K R Kamath.

The bank’s branch network exceeds 5000 with 56 million clientele and a total business of Rs 4.37 lakh crore.

Besides making its presence felt all throughout the country, the bank is operating in 9 countries including the UK, Hong Kong, the UAE (Dubai), China, Norway, Kazakhastan, Nepal, Bhutan and Afghanistan.

Mr. S. R. Sharma MD of Punjab National Bank (International) Ltd. said that bank’s technology-based offerings such as Chip & PIN-based debit card, Internet banking, aggressive interest rates and customer-centric approach have helped it in increasing its client base and boost profits.
