Syndicate Bank Has Set Up 2 SME Loan Processing Centres on Pilot Basis

A recent press report said that Syndicate Bank has set up two loan processing centres for the small and medium enterprise (SME) segment on a pilot basis. The SME loan processing centres will be located at Bangalore and New Delhi.

Reports said that the bank has planned to set up SME loan processing units at two centres, and take it forward to other locations based on the response. IT has 11 centralized processing centres (CPCs) for advances across the country, and seven loan processing units for housing loans.

Reports added saying that the bank’s home loan portfolio stands at about Rs 10,000 crore with over 1.6 lakh borrowers, and it expects the home loan segment to grow 25 per cent every year. Reports also said that the bank currently has home loan processing units at all lead districts, and is also exploring possibilities of extending them to other centres.

The bank has 29 loan processing units for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) segment, and this portfolio stands at around Rs 13,000 crore. The bank’s MSME segment currently forms about 15 per cent of our total loan portfolio.
