Volkswagen launches Passat TSI, introduces 2L diesel Jetta

Volkswagen, Europe’s biggest car manufacturer announced the introduction of the Passat TSI and Jetta common rail diesel engine. The Passat 1.8 L TSI costs Rs 19.20 lakhs, ex showroom New Delhi. The Jetta 2.0 L diesel Comfortline costs Rs. 15.92 lakhs. ex showroom, New Delhi.

The Passat will be fitted with TSI petrol engine. The engine of Volkswagen cars is famous for highest power with smallest fuel consumption, a company release said.

TSI engines are small, high-powered and use minimal fuel thus, providing an enjoyable and connecting drive, while reducing fuel consumption and Co2 emissions, according to the release.

Neeraj Garg, Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India said, “The Passat TSI and Jetta common rail diesel engines are so well refined that not only will they provide superior driving experience but also decrease fuel consumption and lower emissions”.

Volkswagen is the biggest car manufacturer in Europe and operates in 150 countries.

Last month, Volkswagen said it would increase production up to 1,10,000 units in the next 3 years at its Chakan factory near Pune to serve the Indian market.
