Have you been sitting on a bulky wallet bursting with a whole bunch of plastic cards? In all probability, there’s a good chance your wallet has less cash and more cards, which makes it look like you’re carrying the entire Constitution of India in your pocket.
And if carrying your Credit Card, Debit Card, Shopping Card, Visiting Card and PAN Card wasn’t enough, you will now be required to carry yet another card along with these.
That’s right! We’re talking about your Aadhaar Card. By the way, did you know that you can now use your Aadhaar Card to make payments too?

The Aadhaar Card has now been made mandatory for a range of government related schemes and processes. Recently, it was announced that the Aadhaar Card should be mandatory even for children who were served mid-day meals from June onwards.
Post that announcement, five central government ministries have issued a series of notifications for 11 other schemes.

Additionally, Aadhaar Card is now mandatory for the issuance of a driver’s license as well. In a move to clamp down on multiple driving licenses under one name, the centre will now make it mandatory for states to make Aadhaar identification necessary. This strategy is expected to prevent the issuance of multiple licenses for fake identities and other such criminal offences.
