What is the eligibility criteria?

The eligibility criteria vary from card to card. However, you need to be at least 21 years old to apply for any HDFC Bank Credit Card. If you are a salaried individual, the maximum age limit is 60 years. For self-employed individuals, the age limit is 65 years.

What are the documents required to apply for an HDFC Bank Credit Card?

Here’s the list of documents to keep handy while applying for an HDFC Credit Card:

Documents for salaried applicants:

  • Identity proof: Aadhaar card, Passport, Voter ID card or Driving license
  • Address proof: Ration card/Passport/Rental agreement/Electricity or telephone bill
  • 6 months bank passbook or last 3 months bank statements
  • Recent salary slip or current salary certificate.
  • Latest Form 16

Documents for self-employed applicants:

  • PAN Card: For Company /Firm/ individual
  • Identity proof: Passport/ Aadhaar card/Voter ID card/Driving license/Pan card
  • Address proof: Aadhaar card/Passport/Driving license/ Voter ID card
  • Latest 6 months bank statements
  • Latest ITR along with computation of income, recent balance sheet along with Profit & Loss statements
  • Proof of continuation

How can I pay my monthly Credit Card bills?

You can use one of the following channels to pay your monthly Credit Card bill:

ATMs

You can visit any HDFC Bank ATM at any time and transfer the bill amount from your savings or current account to your Credit Card account.

NetBanking

You can also use the HDFC Bank’s netbanking facility to transfer the bill amount from your savings or current bank account to the card account.

Standing Instructions

If you have an account with HDFC Bank, you can instruct the bank in writing to automatically debit your bank account with either the minimum amount due or total amount due of your monthly outstanding on your Credit Card.

This will help you avoid late payment charges and also boost your Credit Score.

Drop-box option

If you still prefer the old fashion way of writing cheques, you can drop a local cheque, payable to HDFC Bank Card A/C followed by your 16-digit card number, at any one of the bank’s ATMs or branches in your city.

Over the counter

You can also simply visit any HDFC Bank branch and pay the bill amount by cash. However, keep in mind that the bank charges a processing fee of Rs. 50 for all cash payments.
