Citibank India awarded ‘Excellence in Internet Banking’ for 2009

The Indian arm of Citibank, the top global financial services company has been won an award titled ‘Excellence in Internet Banking’ for the year 2009. The bank was given the award at The Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards Program.

The bank rose to the top after beating 120 banks and 23 countries spread throughout the APAC, Gulf and Central Asian region.

The Asian Banker Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards have numerous international consultants and global bankers on the list of its jury panel who take care to ensure that fair and clear scorecard is presented and the most deserving gets the award.

The selection process lasts for 3 month and only then is the decision on who gets the award is taken. N. Rajashekaran, Country Business Manager, Consumer and Commercial Banking, Citi India talked about the subject saying that online banking is becoming popular amongst customers and the company will stress more on growth of its online banking amenities.

The company will also be spending more on this section so as to offer higher security of the customer against internet banking frauds and offer easy banking facilities to him.

Citi has also been awarded for Best Regional Retail Business in Asia for 2009.
