Door to door financing with new service from Standard Chartered Bank

By | October 15, 2009

A new trade finance service named “Doorstep Trade Service” has been launched by DHL Express India in tie up with Standard Chartered Bank and Williams Lea. DHL Express is a leading logistics and courier service provider, Williams Lea is a BPO specializing in Corporate Information Solutions.

The new service is aimed mainly at Industrial and commercial clients who need to get instant access to trade finance to boost their business. The idea is to have a mobile van which will visit the clients at their location and will collect the documents required for financing.

Instead of the current practice of sending the hard copies by courier, the time and effort is saved by scanning it and sending an e-copy by GPRS. Having a company like DHL as its partner will enhance the capabilities of Standard Chartered Bank to deliver the service efficiently to far off locations like Industrial areas and SEZ’s where this service will be more welcome.
