The Unique Identification Authority of India had stated the linking of the Permanent Account Number with Aadhaar will enable the PAN cardholders in having easier and quicker income tax return filing.
Though many people have already carried out the linking, there are some who are yet to do the needful. If you are one of those who is yet to carry out the linking, here are a few easy ways as to how one can link both the documents.
First, you need to visit the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Next step that you need to carry out is to click on ‘Link Aadhaar’ under the ‘Quick Links’ tab on the portal. Thereafter, start filling in the details asked for in the form like PAN, Aadhaar Number, and Name as per the Aadhaar card. Also key in the Captcha code as given on the screen. After doing so click on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ button at the bottom of the page. The linking of your PAN is successfully done with Aadhaar.
Apart from this process, individuals can also carry out the linking of both the documents by simply sending an SMS from the registered mobile number. For doing that, an individual needs to send an SMS to 567678 or 56161 by typing UIDPAN followed by the 12-digit Aadhaar number and 10-digit PAN number.
