Recent press reports said that Dr N. Kamakodi, who assumed office as Executive President of Kumbakonam-headquartered City Union Bank, four months ago, has been elevated as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank. Reports said that Dr N. Kamakodi is expected to take charge from the 1st of May 2011.
Dr N. Kamakodi will replace Mr S. Balasubramanian, who has been appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman for Part-time from the date of assuming office. Mr Balasubramanian had taken takes the place of Mr P. Vaidyanathan, who demitted office as Non-Executive Chairman on April 26 on completion of two years.
The bank also informend BSE that Dr N. Kamakodi and Prof. Veezhinathan Kamakoti has been co-opted as Directors of the bank by the Board. The bank is expected even more efficiently under its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
