KVG Bank has covered 7,000 new farmers through ‘Reaching towards Framers' scheme

A recent press report said that Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank (KVG Bank), a Dharwad-based regional rural bank, through its new ‘Reaching towards Framers’ scheme, has covered around 7,000 new farmers.

Reports said that the Chairman of the bank, Mr. C. Sambasiva Reddy, who inaugurated the bank’s stall at ‘Krishi Mela’. At the inauguration ceremony he said that the senior officials of the bank have covered most of the uncovered villages in North Karnataka and have made presentations at Gramasabas.

He also said that the active grass root participation of KVG bank’s officials has earned good response and that the officials have covered more than 7,000 fresh farmers.

Reports also said that the bank in addition to lending to agriculture, is offering education loans to children of farmers. The bank is also involved in offering home loan, personal loans, vehicle loan etc. to the farmers.

The bank  is involved in the social welfare of the people it serves, it has adopted several balawadies run by the Akshara Foundation in the slum areas, adopted a rural school for overall development, donated steel plates to the children of Government Schools at many places, recognizes meritorious rural students by awarding cash prizes etc., etc.
