Punjab Gramin Bank came into existence on 12.09.2005 after the amalgamation of three erstwhile Regional Rural Banks of Punjab State namely, Kapurthala Firozpur Kshetriya Gramin Bank, Shivalik Kshetriya Gramin Bank & Gurdaspur Amritsar Kshetriya Gramin Vikas Bank. It offers home loan, personal loan, vehicle loan, business loan, agricultural loan, education loan etc.
Purpose – To meet short term credit requirement to adjust/repay the outstanding crop loan/KCC limit availed by farmers from the bank and to procure better price by storing farm produce and selling it at favorable price within a specified period
Eligibility – All farmers engaged in Seasonal Agricultural Operations including horticultural and plantation crops, irrespective of whether or not they have availed production credit from the bank.
Nature of Loan – Short term loan
Quantum of Loan – Loan shall not exceed 75% of the value of actual produce pledged subject to a ceiling of Rs.10 lakh per farmer. The value of actual produce shall be determined on the basis of prevailing market price or minimum procurement price announced by the Government, whichever is less.
Repayment of Loan : Produce (Marketing) Loan shall be repaid within a maximum period of twelve months from the date of its disbursement
