Skoda India posts a record sales increase of 213% in Q1 10

SkodaAuto India, a totally-owned associate of SkodaAuto A S, Czech Republic said its sales increased by 213% for quarter ending March as against the same period previous year.

A statement released by the company said, “The year 2010 has commenced with remarkable momentum as SkodaAuto India’s total sales for Q1 2010 stood at 5,510 units as against 2,585 units for the same period last year”.

It added, “This milestone achievement reflects SkodaAuto’s commitment towards India through our leading technology, superior built-quality and valuable services which enhance the ownership experience for our customers”.

The success can also be attributed to the attempts that SkodaAuto has made to fulfill customer  expectations in the after-sales service besides enhancing the cost of ownership for the buyers with the launch of service at 15,000-kilometres and 2 years warranty on spares, the statement said.

Also the launch of boutiques customer touch- points in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, has produced a big word of mouth publicity among the target customer divisions.

Now the company intends to start overall 15 such facilities by 2010, it said further.
