Tata Motors has said that it intends to increase its commercial car business in India and would introduce some more models by the end of this year.

Carl-Peter Forster, Group MD and CEO of Tata Motors said, “We plan to launch a few more models by this year-end”.

This step has been necessitated due to an increasing demand for trucks and cars in the local market.

The new products will have the company’s luxury brands label of Jaguar, he added.

The company may also start a plant to produce small trucks, he said.

Targeting a big opportunity worldwide in the trucks business, Tata Motors is searching for synergies with its JV partner, the Italian car giant, Fiat, Forster said.

He also said, “Tata has all the ingredients to be and it is our ambition to be a big player globally”.
