A recent press said that Union Bank of India (UBI) has elevated seven deputy general managers (DGMs) to the post of General Managers (GMs). The bank sources have said that the promotions will help fill the vacancies that were created at the middle management level due to slew of retirements at the GM level.
According to reports the people who were promoted from the post of deputy general managers (DGMs) to the post of General Managers includes Mr. H. K. Behera, Mr. A. K.Thakur, Mr. R. S. Pandey, Mr. Lodha and Mr. R. G. Kelkar.
Reports also said that many large public sector banks are facing with crisis-like situation at the middle-management level because of large-scale exits, mainly due to retirements. Such situations that exist in the banks are expected to worsen in the coming months.
