German car manufacturer Volkswagen says it will begin selling its mid sized sedan Vento costing between Rs 699,000 and Rs 923,000 in India from September this year.
The new Vento, available in 1.6-litre petrol and diesel models, will be seen on the Indian roads from September 6, 2010 and sold through all Volkswagen dealers, the company said.
The eagerly anticipated car, which is the company’s 7th variant in India will be available at prices starting from 699,000 to 923,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The petrol model begins from 699,000 and the diesel model from 799,000, the company said.
Neeraj Garg, VW Group sales India Member of Board said, “The new Vento is an extension of our commitment towards the Indian consumers of providing the best quality products at competitive prices. Designed for the Indian market, it will be a strong addition to our product portfolio”.
Vento, is being launched from the company’s factory at Chakan in Maharashtra, and will offer the customers an option between manual and automatic transmission.
Vento was first introduced on 6th July 2010.
