The COVID situation has surely changed our lives in a way no one could have ever imagined. Taking care of mental health is more important than ever. Here are a few tips.

Are Your Finances Affecting Your Mental Health?

It’s perfectly normal to have a feeling of anxiety, more so considering the current times. COVID-19 has certainly left us all in complete disarray and our lives have changed in a way that no one could have ever imagined. It’s important to be aware of the issues, if any, and work towards good mental health. Here are a few tips:

Physically Fit

Physical activity releases endorphins, the feel-good hormone and this ensures mental health too. Go for a brisk walk, play a game or just clean the house. It’s important that you sweat it out a little. This will certainly go a long way. Please do make sure you keep a safe distance and sport a mask when you’re outside!

Zen Mode

Aim to get up and sleep around the same time every day. Yes, things have definitely changed and and you probably have more time than before. This doesn’t mean that you let your routine go completely out of whack.

Sleeping too much or too little  – both are harmful for your mental well-being. If you’re having difficulty drifting off, try doing something that uses your imagination before bed, like writing a story, or try meditation. This will definitely help you feel sleepy.

Disconnect Consciously

Yes, yes. It’s all over the news and it has been for quite some time now. You probably hear the word COVID at least 10 times a day or more. Then, there’s news about other things that are wrong with the world and how everything seems to be falling apart.

It’s good to be aware of what’s happening in the world, but definitely not to the point where you stress about it and let it affect your mental health. Simple solution – disconnect and don’t read your notifications or watch the news for a greater part of the day. Spare some time every day to inform yourself and that’s it. The constant bombardment won’t do you any good.

I Like To Connect And I Cannot Lie

Yes, we all miss the old way of life. Meeting friends, going out for a few drinks and travelling. But things have changed and it isn’t possible anymore. But, there are still ways in which you can reconnect. Try to create digital versions of your usual social activities via apps. Like drinking some coffee over a WhatsApp call. Sure, it’ll be weird at first but that’s the best we’ve got. Eventually, you’ll get used to it and it won’t feel all that bad anymore.
