Yamaha introduces new models of FZ16 and FZ-5

To boost its market share, bike manufacturer Yamaha launched new models of its premium division bikes FZ16 and FZ-S with some extra features, costing Rs 65,000 and Rs 67,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

India Yamaha Motor Director and Chief Sales Officer Koji Arai said, “With the refreshed versions of FZ16 and FZ-S, we want to strengthen our presence in the highly competitive 150cc+ segment and increase our share from 12 per cent to 20 per cent by year-end,”

The company has included elegant graphics in the new models with some extra colour alternatives, aimed at the youth. The 153cc bikeswill comply with Bharat Stage-III emission norms.

India Yamaha sold more than one lakh units of the FZ series. It sold 85,000 units of FZ16 and FZ-S in earlier fiscal, which comprised around 40% of the company’s overall sales.
