YES Bank has planned to expand its branch network

A recent press report said that YES Bank has planned to have a branch network of 750 branches across the country by 2015, and 15-20 per cent of these would be located in the South.

Mr R. Ravichander, Group President , Business Development (South), YES Bank, told the press that the metro centers are likely to have over 30 branches each in the next few years and about 150 branches would be located in the South. The bank currently has 214 branches in 164 city locations and over 250 ATMs. By 2015, the bank has planned to have over 3,000 ATMs across the country, and staff strength of about 12,000.

He said that the bank which is currently focused on corporate banking till now will now has planned actively look at retail businesses. He also said that the bank wants its retail business to be 40 per cent of its overall business by 2015.

Mr. Ravichander said that the bank has targeted 40 per cent CASA (current account savings account), which is an important component of the retail banking business, in the next four years. The bank is also working on retail products and on credit products including loan, home loan etc. The bank has recently opened its third branch in Bangalore in order to strengthen the financial infrastructure of Karnataka.
