Private sector bank, Axis Bank has introduced a new service for its clients involving debit cards. The service involves offering payment solution to the clients and is known as ‘Axis Call and Pay on atom’. The bank maintains it to be a leader in offering a safe debit card-based payment service to its client via interactive voice response (IVR).
The service offers clients with the ease of making payments anywhere, anytime through their mobile phones. Thus the clients do not have to rely on anybody.
This solution has been designed by Atom Technologies, a retail division of Financial Technologies Group. The service is very simple and can be accessed from any mobile network since it uses just the calling function of a mobile.
To use this service, Axis Bank clients have to connect their mobile number with their Debit Card. It can be performed at any of the Axis ATM counters. After this is done, the system makes a call back on the client’s mobile and creates a 6 digit PIN known as mPIN, which should be used for each mobile payment transaction.
This service will only be available from Atom Technologies facilitated vendors. Whenever any new merchants join the system it will be made accessible to them. Presently, it is available on Vodafone, Tata Sky, Sun Direct, and Dish TV. The service intends to expand itself across leading sectors like travel, insurance, telecom, entertainment etc. very soon.
