Axis Bank has planned Plans to Spend Rs 100 Cr on Skill Development of 50,000 People in West Bengal

A recent press report said that Axis Bank had announced that it will spend around Rs 100 crore by the next five year period on skill growth and professional training of 50,000 individuals in West Bengal’s Murshidabad and South 24 Paraganas regions.

Mr. Shikha Sharma Bank’s Managing director and chief executive of the Axis foundation’s plan for the next five years would be to work to provide sustainable livelihoods in the most needy and excluded districts of the country, ensuring that at least 60% of the beneficiaries are women.

Reports said that the project will offer up sustainable employment alternatives to recipients by skill improvement training and donation of any two fixed assets.

Reports added saying that ABHA, a combined scheme of Axis Bank Foundation and local non-governmental organization Bandhan-Konnagar, was set up in the South 24 Parganas region by Reserve Bank Deputy Governor K C Chakrabarty, in the company of Sharma and Bandhan’s founder and mentor Chandra Shekhar Ghosh.

The bank has also planned to tie up with Bank Albilad which will open up the Saudi Arabia to India remittance corridor for Axis Bank. The bank offers various products and services in the country and is familiar for its loan products such as Axis home loans, Axis Personal loan, Axis car loan etc.
