Top 5 Celebrity Homes

From lush green lawns to towering skyscrapers, celebrity homes are a mix of all that is modern and contemporary. With brilliant architecture and unique, if sometimes bizarre, designs, celebrities ensure that their homes make headlines without fail.

Although many celebrities do not disclose details about their houses, there are some houses that have managed to stay in the news for a long while. So here are interesting details about some of the most talked about houses on Page 3!

Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa and Prathiksha

Arguably the most popular house in Mumbai and probably amongst the most well-known landmarks in the city is the house of megastar Amitabh Bachchan: Pratiksha. Amitabh has lived in this house for more than 40 years. His parents, Teji Bachchan and Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan too, stayed in this house.

After Abhishek’s marriage to Aishwarya Rai and the birth of their daughter, Aaradhya, the Bachchans bought another house, Jalsa, which is again an extremely popular landmark in Mumbai. Both these houses are known for their rich heritage apart from the obvious fact that the megastar and his family reside here.

While Pratiksha is well-known for its greenery and sprawling lush green lawns, Jalsa is reportedly more modern and contemporary in terms of architecture.

Both these houses manage to make waves in the Indian media for the lavish parties that are hosted from time-to-time. The added attraction, of course, is Big B’s appearance every Sunday evening as he waves out to the throng of screaming fans outside his house Pratiksha.

Shahrukh Khan’s Mannat

If we are discussing celebrity homes, there’s no question of leaving out the palatial abode of Bollywood’s own King Khan Shahrukh Khan!

Regal and fit for a King, Shah Rukh Khan’s home in Band Stand, Bandra is a huge palatial building overlooking the sea. Named Mannat, this house is also a popular landmark in Mumbai, giving the privileged few who have managed to step in a truly heavenly feeling.

Made completely of marble and carved with intricate and exquisite designs, Shahrukh’s house screams royalty like no other. The master bedroom is adorned in plush red, while the living room and dining room have rich shades of gold and nude. Be it the swimming pools, gym, guest rooms, spa or private playing ground, Mannat has all this and much more!

This house certainly deserves its place as an ‘owner’s delight and neighbour’s envy’!

Mukesh Ambani’s Antilla

Being one of the richest man in the world and the owner of Reliance industries has its perks. Building a mammoth 27-storey mansion – the world’s most expensive house – is only the beginning of the story. With a different design scheme for every floor and fully equipped with a spa, salon, gyms, multiple swimming pools, offices and so much more, the vast building has everything you can possibly think of.

Antilla, located on Peddar Road in South Mumbai, comes with nine elevators and six storeys of parking space conveniently kitted out with a car wash too. If this doesn’t spell luxury, a snow room to cool you down definitely does!

Not just world-class amenities, this building can even withstand an earthquake measuring eight on the Richter Scale. The house also has a private jet landing space atop the roof. It’s believed that the electricity bill for this house itself runs into a few crores every month!

Well, if you ever visit Mumbai, don’t miss this huge beauty on Peddar Road!

Akshay Kumar’s home

When we think about the quintessential ‘rags to riches’ story of Bollywood stars, Akshay Kumar’s story springs to mind. Born in Amritsar and raised in Delhi, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career as an actor.

The story of his Juhu home is quite a famous one. Chased away during a photoshoot on its fringes in his early days, Akshay Kumar is now the proud owner of that very same flat. The interior has been designed by his super-talented wife, Twinkle Khanna, and is a classy mix of contemporary decor and style. This house may not scream opulence like Mannat or Antilla, yet it has its own unique appeal and spells sophistication.

Apart from this home, Akshay Kumar also owns a house in Lokhandwala Complex along with several other properties in different countries.

Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments

If you have been to Mumbai and didn’t get a chance to see Galaxy Apartments, then another visit is in order. This popular landmark in Bandra, Mumbai is the abode of superstar Salman Khan and his entire family. The family has been residing here for decades and none of them has plans to shift to the other properties they own.

The entire building is owned by the Khans and each floor is meant for a family member. Each of the floors in the building is designed according to the taste of the resident family member and has all the top-class amenities in place.

Though this building may not have a very attractive exterior, the interiors spell luxury and class! You cannot afford to miss this five-storey building on Bandra, right opposite the famous Juhu Beach.
